TEAM FORM GUIDE
Canberra Raiders

The Raiders won their second consecutive game last Friday night after a 28-0 victory against the Wests Tigers at Bankwest Stadium.

Cronulla Sharks

The Sharks welcomed back Wade Graham in a dominant performance against the Parramatta Eels at PointsBet Stadium on Saturday night, winning by 20 points.

SQUAD NEWS
Canberra Raiders

Canberra coach Ricky Stuart has named the same 17-man squad that defeated the Tigers last week, however, Josh Papalii and Dunamis Liu have been named to start while Ryan Sutton and Sia Soliola have been moved to the bench.

Raiders’ Squad: 1. Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, 2. Bailey Simonsson, 3. Jarrod Croker, 4. Nick Cotric, 5. Jordan Rapana, 6. Jack Wighton, 7. Aidan Sezer, 8. Josh Papalii, 9. Siliva Havili, 10. Jayden Brailey has been replaced by brother Blayke, and Wade Graham will play off the bench. Shaun Johnson has been named on the extended bench.

Sharks’ Squad: 1. Matt Moylan, 2. Sosaia Feki, 3. Bronson Xerri, 4. Josh Morris, 5. Josh Dugan, 6. Kyle Flanagan, 7. Chad Townsend, 8. Andrew Fifita, 9. Blayke Brailey, 10. Matt Prior, 11. HEAD TO HEAD
The Raiders have won their last two games. Last weekend they won after an impressive and dominant performance against the Wests Tigers, defeating their opposition 28 points to nil. The weekend before, they won against the Bulldogs by just two points.

The Sharks were fresh off a bye round when they defeated the Eels by 20 points at home on Saturday night. They were able to welcome back Wade Graham, which was also a huge boost for the side.

The Sharks have won 10 of the last 18 matches against the Raiders, including the last two. The last time they met was at Cronulla’s home ground in round 19 of last season. It was a close, fairly even game, with the Sharks winning by only four points.

KEY BATTLE
There are a couple of important match-ups in the match between the Sharks and the Raiders. One of which is a battle of the centres; Jarrod Croker versus Josh Morris. Both Croker and Morris are talented players who are key players for their respective clubs so far this season. The two players have been scored five individual tries this year while tallying up a handful of try assists.

Croker has played each game this year, while Morris is coming back from a week away from club football after playing State of Origin last week. Both are strong players and could make a big difference for their clubs on Thursday night.

WHO WILL WIN?
The Raiders and the Sharks have been playing well recently and will challenge each other on Thursday night. It’ll be a close game, but a lot of points will be scored.

Sharks by 2.

Bulldogs v Dragons preview

Traditional rivals face off in must-win encounter

Anchored to the bottom of the NRL ladder with just three wins over the first half of the season, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs will be desperate to account for a St George Illawarra Dragons side currently in the midst of their worst losing run since 2016.

Unable to capitalise upon a depleted Canberra Raiders side last Saturday, going down 12-10 at ANZ Stadium, Bulldogs coach Dean Pay will be desperate for results to improve having failed to advance the team's winning percentage over the same time period last year.

Holding an impressive 12 from 15 record over the Dragons since 2012, the blue and whites will be hoping to continue their success in the public holiday fixture; winning three of the four matches held since being adopted on a regular basis four years ago.

Opting against large-scale changes despite succumbing to their ninth loss this season, Queensland enforcer Dylan Napa has been included on an extended bench with a decision to be made pending the outcome of Wednesday's opening Origin fixture.

Bulldogs : 1. Nick Meaney 2. Christian Crichton 3. Marcelo Montoya 4. Will Hopoate 5. Reimis Smith 6. Kieran Foran 7. Jack Cogger 8. Aiden Tolman 9. Jeremy Marshall-King 10. Ofahiki Ogden 11. Josh Jackson 12. Raymond Faitala-Mariner 13. Adam Elliott 14. Rhyse Martin 15. Danny Fualalo 16. Chris Smith 17. Sauaso Sue 21. Michael Lichaa 23. Dylan Napa

Dragons : 1. Matthew Dufty 2. Jonus Pearson 3. Euan Aitken 4. Zac Lomax 5. Mikaele Ravalawa 6. Corey Norman 20. Ben Hunt 8. Blake Lawrie 9. Cameron McInnes 22. Paul Vaughan 21. Tyson Frizell 12. Tariq Sims 10. Korbin Sims 7. Jai Field 11. Jacob Host 14. Jeremy Latimore 15. Reece Robson 13. Luciano Leilua 18. Jordan Pereira

Referees: Gerard Sutton, Liam Kennedy; Sideline Officials: Rickey McFarlane, Belinda Sharpe; Video Referees: Jared Maxwell, Bryan Norrie;

Coming into Monday's match off the back of five consecutive losses - their worst losing streak since post-Origin 2016 - the St George Illawarra Dragons will be hoping a week off with the bye brings about renewed on-field fortune.

Suffering a lacklustre 22-9 loss to Cronulla a fortnight ago, Dragons coach Paul McGregor has received mixed news on the injury front with former Canterbury duo James Graham and Tim Lafai unavailable for the next six weeks, while regaining the services of reliable journeyman Jeremy Latimore and gun playmaker Corey Norman in a major boon to the side's chances.

Winning two of their past three clashes against Canterbury, including a dominant 40-4 performance at Kogarah earlier this season, the joint venture has struggled at ANZ Stadium since McGregor took charge midway through 2014, winning just six of 20 matches at the venue.

Falling from sixth to 13th on the premiership ladder during the five match run of losses, the Dragons have made several changes headlined by fullback Matt Dufty earning a recall and Corey Norman returning after a month out with a fractured cheekbone. With Ben Hunt, Paul Vaughan and Tyson Frizell having five days to back up from Wednesday night's opening State of Origin fixture all three players have been included on the extended bench, with Jai Field, Josh Kerr and debutant Lachlan Timm preferred in the starting squad.

Last meeting: Round 5 2019 - Dragons 40 Bulldogs 4

Who to watch: Growing in confidence after stringing together an uninterrupted run of appearances in the halves, Bulldogs halfback Jack Cogger has found his feet in the top grade under Dean Pay this season. Unable to cement a regular position during his three years at Newcastle due to preferred playmakers and injury, the 21-year-old has shown moments of class since beating out Lachlan Lewis for the chance to partner Kieran Foran in the halves, with his running game being a particular stand-out since assuming the number seven jersey. Going toe to toe with two of the most experienced playmakers in the game today, look for Cogger to rise to the challenge as he strives to lift the blue and whites off the bottom of the ladder.

Making a much-needed return from injury to help the Dragons get back on course, Corey Norman shapes as the man most likely to get the Red V back into the winner's circle. Missing the past month with a fractured eye socket sustained in the loss to Parramatta, the 27-year-old playmaker has shown tremendous poise in a short period of time at the club, including nailing two match-sealing field goals earlier this season. Winning six of his past seven clashes opposite the Bulldogs, look for Norman to provide the Dragons with the confidence needed to move within striking distance of the top eight.

The favourite: With Corey Norman back and their representative trio likely to take the field, the Dragons are favoured to score a much-needed win.

My tip: Defying their standing at the bottom of the ladder, the spirit shown by the Bulldogs in recent weeks should bring about a performance good enough to come away with two competition points on Monday afternoon. Bulldogs by 2.

MATCH PREVIEW | Penrith Panthers vs Sydney Roosters

TEAM FORM GUIDE
Penrith Panthers
After a disastrous start to the season, the Panthers have won their last two games. It will be a much happier club but they still sit in 14th position on the ladder. Their win against the Sea Eagles was way too close for comfort after a dominant 70-minute display before Manly roared back into the contest. Their attack still needs work but it won’t come easy against a stiff Roosters defence.

Sydney Roosters
The Roosters had the bye in round 12 but prior to that they were manhandled by the Knights, led by dominant displays from Mitchell Pearce and Kalyn Ponga. The injury to Luke Keary will really hurt as he’s been a standout all season but James Tedesco should come into this match with plenty of confidence after a starring performance for the Blues on Wednesday night.

SQUAD NEWS
Penrith Panthers
Viliame Kikau and Wayde Egan are back in the side. Liam Martin moves back to the bench while Mitchell Kenny is back in the reserves. Reagan Campbell-Gillard comes into the starting side in place of the injured Tim Grant, while Hame Sele takes the place of Tyrell Fuimaono. Nathan Cleary has been named in the reserves after playing in Origin on Wednesday night.

Penrith Panthers squad: 1 Dylan Edwards, 2 Josh Mansour, 3 Isaah Yeo, 4 Brent Naden, 5 Brian To’o, 6 Jarome Luai, 7 James Maloney, 8 James Tamou, 9 Wayde Egan, 10 Reagan Campbell-Gillard, 11 Viliame Kikau, 12 Frank Winterstein, 13 James Fisher-Harris Interchange: 14 Sione Katoa, 15 Liam Martin, 16 Moses Leota, 17 Hame Sele Reserves: 18 Kaide Ellis, 19 Caleb Aekins, 20 Mitchell Kenny, 21 Nathan Cleary

Sydney Roosters
All of the Roosters Origin players have been named, but Latrell Mitchell is unlikely to play after going back home to Taree following the game on Wednesday night. Cooper Cronk is back after being rested last round and will partner Drew Hutchison in the halves who comes in for Luke Keary. Mitchell Aubusson moves back to the bench while Jared Waerea-Hargreaves will need to be replaced after receiving a two-week suspension.

Sydney Roosters squad: 1 James Tedesco, 2 Daniel Tupou, 3 Latrell Mitchell, 4 Joseph Manu, 5 Matt Ikuvalu, 6 Drew Hutchison, 7 Cooper Cronk, 8 Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, 9 Victor Radley, 10 Siosiua Taukeiaho, 11 Boyd Cordner, 12 Angus Crichton, 13 Isaac Liu Interchange: 14 Nat Butcher, 15 Zane Tetevano, 16 Sitili Tupouniua, 17 Mitchell Aubusson Reserves: 18 Poasa Faamausili, 19 Ryan Hall, 20 Lindsay Collins, 21 Sam Verrills

HEAD TO HEAD
The Panthers and Roosters have met just once in each of the past two seasons. In 2018, the Roosters cruised to a 32-6 win. The Roosters have had the wood over the Panthers in recent times, and given both side’s form in 2019 it’s difficult to see this match bucking the trend.

KEY BATTLE
This game comes down to the halves. Cleary is still a chance to be a late inclusion, but if not, both halves pairings blend youth with experience. Maloney produced arguably his best performance of the season against the Sea Eagles and the Panthers need him to repeat that performance. Luai was a constant threat with ball in hand but the Roosters defence, despite a poor display against the Knights, is arguably the best in the competition. The Panthers have struggled to score points all season and they need to turn that around quickly if they’re any chance of winning this game.

For the Roosters, a lot of pressure rests on the shoulders of Cooper Cronk with Luke Keary missing, as Drew Hutchison will play his first NRL game since 2016. The pressure is something that Cronk is used to but he will have to do a lot more than direct the team around and use his dangerous kicking game. He needs to get the ball in his hands as much as possible. Look for him to combine with Tedesco against a Panthers defence which has been leaking for the majority of the season.

THE IMPORTANT DETAILS

WHO WILL WIN?
The Panthers should have much more confidence heading into this clash but the Roosters are still one of the best teams in the competition and boast far too much firepower. It’s too hard to see anything but the Roosters cruising to victory.

2019 NRL – North Queensland Cowboys vs Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles Preview & Prediction

THE TEAM NEWS
NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS

Head Coach: Paul Green

Starting 13: Morgan, Feldt, Dunn, Opacic, Tuala, Asiata, Clifford, McGuire, Granville, McLean, Cooper, Hess, Taumalolo – Interchanges: Cotter, Wright, Bolton, Molo – Reserves: Hola, Bowen, Jensen, Pere

Unavailable: Murray Taulagi, Nene Macdonald, Te Maire Martin, Ben Hampton, Justin O’Neill, Matt Scott, Jordan Kahu, Gideon Gela-Mosby, Kurt Baptiste

North Queensland managed to hold on as Kyle Feldt's last-ditch try-saving tackle earned the Cowboys the win over Gold Coast as their impressive run of form continued after securing a third consecutive win.

The Cowboys lost two more players last week with Jordan Kahu and Gideon Gela-Mosby both set for stints on the sidelines but thankfully for the Cowboys, they are able to call upon their Origin players.

Michael Morgan will take Kahu’s place at fullback whilst Josh McGuire will return at prop which sees Scott Bolton drop to the bench whilst Enari Tuala comes onto the wing and 20-year-old Reuben Cotter will make his NRL debut from the interchanges.

MANLY-WARRINGAH SEA EAGLES

Head Coach: Des Hasler

Starting 13: T. Trbojevic, Taufua, Walker, Suli, Garrick, Cust, Elgey, Fonua-Blake, Koroisau, Taupau, Thompson, Sironen, Gosiewski – Interchanges: Fainu, Elliot, Boyle, Paseka – Reserves: J. Trbojevic, Cherry-Evans, Olakau’atu, Perrett

Unavailable: Albert Hopoate, Toafofoa Sipley, Lachlan Croker, Brad Parker

Manly were again poor as they left it too late to give the ball some air against Penrith as they came out second best to the Panthers but could have some significant inclusions come kick-off against North Queensland.

The Sea Eagles have received a huge boost with Tom Trbojevic named to start at fullback and he will be eager to impress after a long stint out as he attempts to put himself back in the frame for a Blues jersey.

Tom’s brother Jake appeared to come through Origin unscathed and will back-up here but it remains to be seen if Daly Cherry-Evans will be risked after he overcame an ankle injury to feature on Wednesday but in another boost for Manly, Moses Suli is back in the centres.

THE PREDICTION
The Cowboys made it three wins in a row as they defeated Gold Coast but are now in the midst of a serious injury crisis with Michael Morgan having to back-up at fullback following Origin. They host an out-of-sorts Manly side who will improve with Tom Trbojevic back and should edge this. The Sea Eagles had managed to get by without Trbojevic in their side but having fallen by the wayside recently, they will be delighted to have him back and he can prove to be the difference between the two teams.

MATCH PREVIEW | Cronulla Sharks vs Parramatta Eels

TEAM FORM GUIDE
Cronulla Sharks

The Sharks had a bye last weekend following a 13-point win against the Dragons at WIN Stadium in round 11.

Parramatta Eels

The Parramatta Eels sit just inside the top eight after winning against the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Bankwest Stadium last Friday night 26-14.

SQUAD NEWS
Cronulla Sharks

The Sharks will be missing centre Josh Morris, with the Cronulla coach deciding not to rush him back after State of Origin on Wednesday night. Josh Dugan replaces Morris in the centres, while Aaron Gray has been named on the wing. Wade Graham has recently been included in the side, playing for the first time in 2019 after taking time to recover from a knee reconstruction.

Sharks’ Squad: 1. Matt Moylan, 2. Sosaia Feki, 3. Bronson Xerri, 4. Josh Dugan, 5. Aaron Gray, 6. Kyle Flanagan, 7. Chad Townsend, 8. Andrew Fifita, 9. Jayden Brailey, 10. Matt Prior, 11. Briton Nikora, 12. Kurt Capewell, 13. Paul Gallen, 14. Blayke Brailey, 15. Jayson Bukuya, 16. Jack Williams, 17. Braden Hamlin-Uele, 18. Scott Sorensen, 19. Sione Katoa, 20. Wade Graham, 21. Shaun Johnson.

Parramatta Eels

Earlier in the week, coach Brad Arthur named the same starting 17 following the Eels’ win over the Rabbitohs. On Friday, Arthur announced the return of Nathan Brown to the side, who has been missing since round one, recovering from a pectoral injury.

Eels’ Squad: 1. Clint Gutherson, 2. Maika Sivo, 3. Michael Jennings, 4. Josh Hoffman, 5. Blake Ferguson, 6. Will Smith, 7. Mitch Moses, 8. Kane Evans, 9. Reed Mahoney, 10. Junior Paulo, 11. Shaun Lane, 12. Manu Ma’u, 13. Tepai Moeroa, 14. Peni Terepo, 15. Ray Stone, 16. David Gower, 17. Marata Niukore, 18. Brad Takairangi, 19. George Jennings, 20. Tim Mannah, 21. Nathan Brown

HEAD TO HEAD
Of the last 13 games these two sides have played, the Cronulla Sharks have won seven. They had won five in a row before their most recent meeting, which took place at ANZ Stadium in round four of this season.

Both the Sharks and the Eels had star players sustain injuries the weekend before their last meeting, forcing the coaches to adjust their respective line ups. In their last match, the score was locked up at 12-all until two tries later in the match put the Eels ahead, leaving little room for a Cronulla comeback.

The Sharks versus Eels match against the Cronulla will be refreshed in their comeback to PointsBet Stadium, coming off a bye last weekend, while the Eels will be looking for a second victory in a row.

KEY BATTLE
The Sharks host the Eels at PointsBet Stadium on Saturday night in what should be an entertaining match. The Eels will be looking to continue their winning momentum after last week’s victory over the Rabbitohs, while the Sharks are returning from a bye. History is hardly an important factor in this match due to each team having a fair share of wins over the years.

Chad Townsend versus Mitch Moses will be an interesting match-up in Saturday night’s game. Having a strong halfback is an important element in any team and both the Sharks and the Eels have talented players in that position. Both Moses and Townsend have been important players for their respective teams, and will no doubt be key players during the round 13 match.

THE IMPORTANT DETAILS

WHO WILL WIN?
It will be an interesting game at PointsBet Stadium on Saturday night. Both sides have the potential to win, each gaining strength in the addition of players coming back from injury. It is hard to imagine many points being scored in this game.

MATCH PREVIEW | New Zealand Warriors vs Melbourne Storm

Team Form Guide
New Zealand Warriors
Round 12 was the Warriors bye round, and they needed it after their gruelling round 11 8-2 defeat to the Broncos. The Warriors were defensively strong but could not find a way past the Broncos solid line often looking lost with the ball in hand.

They will need to bring the same defensive intensity to this match but also will need to rediscover their offence if they are to have a shot on Saturday afternoon.

Melbourne Storm
The Storm also enjoyed a bye last week but were their clinical selves in round 11 defeating the Bulldogs 28-6.

The Storm killed the Bulldogs momentum and never let them get out of first gear allowing them to test the Bulldogs line at will.

The Storm will need more of the same this week but will have to overcome a disrupted week due to State of Origin.

Squad News
New Zealand Warriors
Agnatius Paasi returns to the starting line up after his suspension, Adam Blair moves into lock for his 299th game sending Lachlan Burr to the bench joining Chris Satae who has taken injured Jazz Tevaga’s spot.

New Zealand Warriors 21-Man Squad: 1. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, 2. David Fusitu’a, 3. Peta Hiku, 4. Patrick Herbert, 5. Ken Maumalo, 6. Kodi Nikorima, 7. Blake Green, 8. Agnatius Paasi, 9. Issac Luke, 10. Leeson Ah Mau, 11. Isaiah Papali’i, 12. Tohu Harris, 13. Adam Blair, 14. Lachlan Burr, 15. Bunty Afoa, 16. Chris Satae, 17. Karl Lawton, 18. Gerard Beale, 20. Leivaha Pulu, 21. Jackson Frei, 22. Chanel Harris-Tavita

Melbourne Storm
No changes for the Storm with all their State of Origin players being named to start pending how they fare in the first Origin clash of the year.

Melbourne Storm 21-Man Squad: 1. Jahrome Hughes,  2. Suliasi Vunivalu, 3. Will Chambers, 4. Marion Seve, 5. Josh Addo-Carr, 6. Cameron Munster, 7. Brodie Croft, 8. Jesse Bromwich, 9. Cameron Smith, 10. Nelson Asofa-Solomona, 11. Felise Kaufusi, 12. Kenneath Bromwich, 13. Dale Finucane, 14. Brandon Smith, 15. Joe Stimson, 16. Tui Kamikamica, 17. Ryan Papenhuyzen, 18. Justin Olam, 19. Patrick Kaufusi, 20. Albert Vete, 21. Sandor Earl

Head to Head
Played: 43, Storm 25, Warriors 16, 2 Drawn

Latest Result: Storm 13-12, Round 7 2019

Key Battle

There are several mouth-watering matchups in this contest, but the key battle will be between Kodi Nikorima and Cameron Munster.

Nikorima has added a spark to the Warriors since his signing, his pace and ability to spot gaps in the defensive line are vital in the Warriors chances of victory and his side will be relying on him to reinvigorate their stagnant offence.

Munster has been strong for the Storm for the past month after a slightly rocky start to the season, he has settled into running this side alongside Cameron Smith, and they are a dangerous combination. Munster’s running game is dangerous, but his kicking game could be what makes the difference in this clash with the Warriors susceptible to tries scored by kicks.

Expect to see both players contribute plenty of scoring opportunities for their lethal backlines.

The Important Details

Who will win?
Losing to the Storm by only one point on Anzac Day will boost the Warriors confidence for this encounter, but they will need to get momentum early one. The return of Paasi will help the Warriors combat the large Storm pack.

When the Warriors play off the cuff, they can unsettle the structured Storm so second phase football is a necessity for the Warriors to get the upper hand.

The Storm needs to do what they do best, slow the ruck, get the Warriors on the back foot and then pin the Warriors deep in their half. If the Storm does that they can tire the Warriors out and points will come.

I see the Storm being too strong for the Warriors here. Providing they have all their Origin stars fit and healthy the Storm will be the same consistent machine they always are keeping their spot at the top of the ladder.

MATCH PREVIEW | Wests Tigers vs Canberra Raiders

TEAM FORM GUIDE
Wests Tigers
Wests picked up two points from the round 12 bye, keeping them just outside the eight. Their 5-6 record summarises their inconsistency, especially after winning their opening two games. They’ll play their second game at Bankwest Stadium (their first official home game), after a horrific belting from Parramatta on Easter Monday.

Canberra
Canberra scored a vital win over Canterbury last Saturday night. Minus the injured Josh Hodgson and Origin reps Jack Wighton, Nick Cotric and Josh Papalii, the Raiders shot to a 10-0 lead through Sebastian Kris (his first NRL try) and the returning John Bateman. While Canterbury levelled the scores in the second half, a two-man stripping penalty allowed Jarrod Croker to kick a penalty goal with 10 minutes left. Canberra held on, thanks to brilliant late tackle from Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad that defused a last-ditch Bulldogs break. The win kept Canberra in fifth, still behind Newcastle on points differential. This is Canberra’s first game at Bankwest and – in an interesting coincidence (or scheduling genius) – the ACT Brumbies play the NSW Waratahs at Bankwest 24 hours later. It could be a big long weekend for Canberra sports fans.

SQUAD NEWS
Wests Tigers
Wests have one change, welcoming back Moses Mbye from Origin.

Wests Tigers squad: 1. Moses Mbye 2. Robert Jennings 3. Paul Momirovski 4. Esan Marsters 5. Corey Thompson 6. Benji Marshall 7. Luke Brooks 8. Ben Matulino 9. Robbie Farah 10. Alex Twal 11. Ryan Matterson 12. Chris McQueen 13. Matt Eisenhuth 14. Jacob Liddle 15. Thomas Mikaele 16. Josh Aloiai 17. Michael Chee-Kam 18. David Nofoaluma 19. Elijah Taylor 20. Chris Lawrence 21. Mahe Fonu.

Canberra
Some big inclusions for Canberra: their Origin contingent return (Wighton, Cotric, Papalii), joined by Jordan Rapana. Aidan Sezer drops to the extended bench, with Sam Williams partnering Wighton in the halves. Emre Guler replaces a suspended Hudson Young.

Canberra squad: 1. Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad 2. Bailey Simonsson 3. Jarrod Croker 4. Nick Cotric 5. Jordan Rapana 6. Jack Wighton 7. Sam Williams 8. Josh Papalii 9. Siliva Havili 10. Dunamis Lui 11. John Bateman 12. Elliott Whitehead 13. Joseph Tapine 14. Tom Starling 15. Emre Guler 16. Iosia Soliola 17. Ryan Sutton 18. Aidan Sezer 19. Royce Hunt 20. Michael Oldfield 21. Sebastian Kris

HEAD TO HEAD
Canberra have a tremendous recent record against the Wests Tigers, with four straight wins from 2016 to 2018: 60-6 and 52-10 (2016), 46-6 (2017), and 48-12 (2018) – an average winning margin of 43. The Tigers finally got one back in round 22 at Bruce Stadium last year, winning 22-20 and ending Canberra’s slim finals hopes.

KEY BATTLE
Benji Marshall v Jack Wighton. Rugby league produces some bizarre stats: like Benji Marshall’s amazing record against Canberra, with 18 wins from 19 games across three clubs (Wests, St. George-Illawarra and Brisbane). Wighton’s switch from fullback to five eighth has been a big part of Canberra’s resurgence (also allowing the amazing Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad to thrive at fullback). Jack’s ironed out the mistakes and deserved his Origin debut on Wednesday night. With some doubt over Sam Williams or Aidan Sezer as the preferred halfback, Wighton’s continued improvement is even more important. Expect the buzz of his Origin debut to fire Jack up and get the Raiders home.

THE IMPORTANT DETAILS

WHO WILL WIN?
After the bad loss to North Queensland, Canberra rediscovered some grit against Canterbury. That shot of confidence – and a desire to stay in touch with the top four – will be enough to beat the inconsistent Tigers.

Prediction: Canberra by 10.
